Cash Converters is committed to providing quality second-hand goods and excellent customer service. This policy outlines your rights and our responsibilities regarding returns, refunds, and exchanges for purchases made at Cash Converters stores and through our online platforms.
Consumer Rights and Warranties
Australian Consumer Law Protection
Under Australian Consumer Law, Cash Converters guarantees that:
- The goods you are purchasing are of satisfactory quality
- The goods are fit for all purposes for which they are supplied
- The goods are safe and durable
- Where any written description is applied to the goods, the goods match that description
If these conditions are breached, you may be entitled to certain remedies under the Australian Consumer Law, including repair, replacement or refund.
UK Consumer Rights Act 2015
For UK customers, our responsibilities are governed by the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which states that goods must be:
- Safe and fit the description given at the time of purchase
- Of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose
- Properly installed or assembled with adequate instructions where applicable
Cashies 90-Day Warranty
Coverage
Most items sold by Cash Converters are covered by our Cashies 90-day warranty. This means if an item becomes faulty within 90 days of purchase, you may be eligible for a refund, exchange or repair.
Exclusions
Due to the nature of second-hand goods and the fact that each item has its own unique history, certain items may be exempt from our usual Cashies 90-day warranty. Please contact the store where the item was purchased for specific warranty information.
Battery Policy
- New products: Non-removable consumable parts and sealed batteries are covered for the full duration of the warranty, provided no exclusions apply and they have not been removed or tampered with
- Used products: Batteries are checked for satisfactory operation before sale but are only covered for 30 days from the date of purchase as they are consumable items with limited lifetime
Return Policy
General Returns
- Cash Converters does not offer refunds for ‘change of mind’ purchases
- Returns are accepted for faulty, damaged, or incorrectly described items
- Contact the store where you purchased the item to request any refunds
- The store may offer alternative solutions such as repair or replacement
Online Purchase Returns
14-Day Return Period
- You have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order without giving any reason
- The cancellation period expires at the end of 14 days after you acquire physical possession of the goods
Return Process
- Contact the store where you purchased the item within 14 days of receipt
- If you cannot contact the store, email customerservices.uk@cashconverters.com (UK) or webshop@cashconverters.com (Australia)
- Return the item in full working order and the same condition as when purchased
- Include the dispatch note and package securely (preferably in original packaging)
- Send within 14 working days after notifying us of your intention to cancel
Return Costs
You are responsible for the cost of returning items unless:
- We delivered the item to you in error
- The item is damaged or defective
For your protection, use a recorded-delivery service
Non-Returnable Items
Cannot accept cancellations for:
- Audio, video, or DVD recordings (where unsealed)
- Video games and software products (where unsealed)
Note: This does not apply to goods which are faulty or not as described
Refund Process
Processing Refunds
- Contact the store where the item was purchased regarding any refund claims
- Once the store receives and approves the returned item, the refund will be processed
- Refunds will be processed back to the same payment method originally used to purchase the item
- Some financial institutions may take 3-5 business days to process the refund
Refund Conditions
- Items must be returned in the same condition as when purchased
- You are only liable for diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods
- Include all accessories with the returned item
Exchange Policy
Exchanges may be offered as an alternative to refunds for:
- Faulty items within the warranty period
- Items that don’t match their description
- Items that are not fit for purpose
