Return Policy
Online Orders (Carhartt.com)
Return Window: 180 days from the original date of purchase
Eligibility Requirements:
- Items must be returned in their original condition with all tags attached
- Items must be unworn and unaltered
- Original packaging and purchase receipt recommended
- Returns only accepted from orders placed on Carhartt.com
Return Process:
- Begin by entering your order number and email address in the online return portal
- Select the items and reason for the return
- Include the Carhartt Return Copy in your return package
- Attach the UPS Return Address Label found in the return portal to your package
- Drop off at any UPS location

Retail Store Returns
Return Window: 180 days from the original purchase date
With Receipt:
- Refunds and exchanges processed at original purchase price plus applicable sales tax
- Items may be exchanged for the same product or refunded to original payment method
- Gift receipt returns can be exchanged for another item or gift card equal to purchase price
Without Receipt:
- Refunds or exchanges processed at current sale price plus applicable sales tax
- Items may be exchanged for the same product or returned for merchandise credit
- Items not found in store POS system cannot be exchanged or returned
- Carhartt reserves the right to limit the number of returns made without a store receipt
Refund Policy
Processing Time and Method
- Refunds processed within 3-5 business days after distribution center receives return
- All refunds credited to original method of payment
- Gift card refunds may take up to 5-7 business days
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable

- Free return shipping for all orders
- 180 days to try on, test out, and return for free if not satisfied

Important Notice: Carhartt is currently unable to perform exchanges for online orders
Retail Store Exchanges
- Exchanges available for items purchased in Carhartt retail stores within 180 days
- Items may be exchanged for the same product
- Must be in original condition with tags attached
- Original receipt required for exchanges at original price
Special Conditions and Exclusions
Custom/Embroidered Items
- Custom orders with embroidery or screen print cannot be modified, exchanged, or returned unless defective
- Contact Customer Service immediately upon receipt with pictures and details for defective customized items
Altered Garments
- Carhartt assumes no liability for garments with alterations, embroidery, or other ornamentation
- Garments altered in-store by Carhartt associates cannot be returned after customer approval
Company Gear Orders
- 60-day return window for non-embroidered Company Gear items
- Large returns may be subject to restocking fees
