Cabela’s Return, Refund, and Exchange Policy

General Return Policy

In most cases, if the item was purchased through the catalog or online, you may return it to us for an exchange or refund either by mail or at the store within 60 days of purchase with valid proof of purchase. We will accept items returned after 60 days on an inspection basis only. You may return your items to either company, regardless of whether you purchased from Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s.

Return Time Frame

Within 60 Days: Items can be returned for a refund of the original purchase price plus applicable taxes items within 60 days of date of purchase. The refund will be in the original method of payment. Proof of purchase required.

After 60 Days: We will accept items returned after 60 days on an inspection basis only.

Exchange Policy

We offer an exchange for the exact same product, if available on most items returned within 60 days of date of purchase, with or without a receipt. The fastest way to facilitate an exchange is to have a return label issued and use it to return your item. As soon as the label is scanned by FedEx a refund credit will be issued. Then simply place a new order for the item you want in exchange.

Refund Policy

With Receipt

Items can be returned for a refund of the original purchase price plus applicable taxes items within 60 days of date of purchase. The refund will be in the original method of payment. Proof of purchase required.

In-Store Refunds:

  • If your store receipt reflects that you paid by cash or check, you will be refunded in cash at the store. If you paid with a credit card, a credit will be issued to the credit card you used.
Without Receipt

Items returned without a receipt within 60 days of date of purchase will only be refunded in the form of a store credit. Items returned without a receipt will be processed at the lowest sale price plus applicable sales tax. Such items may be exchanged for the same product or returned for merchandise credit in the form of a gift card.

Return Methods

In-Store Returns

Bring original receipt or order number and a form of photo ID. Enter store and approach greeter’s desk to have merchandise checked then to Customer Service for processing a refund or exchange.

Acceptable Forms of ID: US or Canadian Driver’s License, US State ID, Canadian Province ID, US Military ID, Laser Visa or Passport.

Mail Returns

The fastest way to get your refund or start the exchange process is to have a return label issued. Use one of the links below and provide your order number and the email address used on the order to request a return label.

Return Shipping

If your return is due to receiving damaged or defective merchandise or a mistake we made on your order we will gladly waive the fee for the use of any prepaid return label or reimburse you for return shipping expenses for standard ground shipping through USPS, UPS, or FedEx. We are unable to reimburse additional shipping or processing fees charged by packaging centers.

Exclusions and Non-Returnable Items

Safety-Related Items (Non-Returnable)

For safety reasons the following items are not returnable: Firearms, Ammunition, Black powder firearms, Black Powder, Primers, Reloading Lead, Brass or Bullets, Treestands, Blowguns, and Mouth Calls (ex: Waterfowl, Turkey, and Big Game Calls, etc.)

Gasoline-Powered Items and Drones

Gasoline-powered items and drones are ineligible for return if they have been used, show signs of use, or if oil or fuel has been added. May be returned in unused condition within 60 days of purchase with the original sales receipt. Item must be returned in original packaging with all accompanying manuals and accessories.

Other Exclusions
  • Custom Order products such as those for a specific make/model of the item must be returned to the manufacturer (e.g. seat covers, floor mats, furniture, etc.)
  • Any product that has been altered may not be returned (i.e. cut arrows, etc.)
  • Bargain Cave items purchased at a retail store are nonreturnable
  • Marine motor propellers that have been installed are nonreturnable
  • Any product that has been reconditioned may not be returned. (Example: bows and crossbows.)
Special Conditions
  • Some bikes are subject to a restocking fee. Please view the “Important Notice” information on the item’s webpage to verify if fees apply.
  • Online orders placed using PayPal as a payment method can be returned to a retail store, but we can only exchange or refund as a gift card.
  • Purchases made at Sunglass Hut locations within our retail stores must be returned to those locations within 30 days of purchase.

Warranties

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Brand Products
  • Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s proprietary branded merchandise carries a one (1) year warranty against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship.
  • Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s branded boots, shoes, and waders carry a one (1) year warranty against manufacturer defects. This is a limited warranty and does not cover normal wear and tear.
Fishing Rods
  • All Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s brand rods have a 1-year warranty, and the following Rods have a ten (10) year warranty: Johnny Morris Platinum Signature, Johnny Morris Signature Series, Johnny Morris CarbonLite 2.0, and Johnny Morris Patriot.
Electronics and Manufacturer Warranties

All electronics and non-Bass Pro brand rods and reels that are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty should be returned to the manufacturer for replacement or repair after 60 days.

International Returns

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, merchandise may be returned to us for an exchange or refund within 90 days of purchase. After 90 days returned merchandise will be accepted on an inspection basis only.

Items returned with a receipt will be refunded at the original purchase price in the original method of payment used on the order. Items returned without a receipt will be processed at the lowest sale price. Shipping and handling charges are not refunded unless we made a mistake in the shipment of your order.

Canadian Returns

All items must be returned in the country in which they were purchased. Merchandise purchased from cabelas.ca or at a Cabela’s retail location in Canada must be returned to Cabela’s Canada.

Additional Policies

Right to Limit Returns

We reserve the right to limit or decline returns and exchanges without valid proof of purchase. We reserve the right to limit the number of returns without a store receipt.
