ASDA Return, Refund and Exchange Policy
Return Period
ASDA allows customers to return most items within 30 calendar days of delivery or collection for a full refund or exchange. This applies to both online and in-store purchases.
George Clothing Extended Return Period
For George clothing items, ASDA offers a 100-day satisfaction guarantee, with 30 days for third-party vendor products. The 100-day satisfaction guarantee excludes hair accessories and pierced jewellery.
Proof of Purchase Requirements
- You will need to prove that you bought the item from ASDA
- Original receipt or proof of purchase is required for most returns
- For items purchased with ASDA gift cards, valid refunds will be put back onto a gift card for you to use again in store
Faulty Items Policy
Within 30 Days
If you discover an item is damaged, faulty, mis-described or parts are missing within the first 30 calendar days of delivery or collection, you may return it and request either a full refund, a price reduction, or replacement or repair of the item.
After 30 Days
If you discover the item is damaged, faulty, mis-described or parts are missing after 30 calendar days from delivery or collection, you may return the item and request either a repair or replacement. If the repair or replacement provided by us is not satisfactory, you can then request either a refund or price reduction.
Excluded Items
The following items cannot be returned unless they are faulty or mis-described:
Gaming and Entertainment
- Gaming consoles & accessories
- Gaming Consoles, video games, DVD’s, CD’s, and computer software. These items must be unused and in the original security sealed packaging
Health and Hygiene Items
- Items which cannot be resold for health and hygiene reasons once unwrapped
- Prescription medicines and tobacco products
Third-Party Products
- Any items that state in the product description they are supplied by a third-party vendor
Other Exclusions
- Gift cards, tobacco, stamps, petrol and lottery tickets
- Perishable goods such as fresh food and flowers (unless faulty or damaged)
- Personalized and custom items (unless faulty or damaged)
Return Methods
Online Returns – George Products
Online returns are free. Follow these steps:
- Online Account Method:
- Go to your account and select the items you want to return
- You will be emailed a QR code
- Put the items you want to return into one parcel. Try to use the original packaging if you can
- In-Store Drop-off:
- Take your parcel and QR code to the collection point in your Asda store (Excludes Asda Express). Scan the QR code to print your label
- Postal Return:
- Address your package to: George Online Returns Dept GXO, Unit 4, Hurricane Way South Sherburn Distribution Park Sherburn in Elmet LS25 6PT
- The post office will charge you. Ask for proof of delivery tracking and keep it safe
- Home Collection:
- If your order was delivered to your home, call us on 0330 053 0111 to arrange a pickup
Grocery Returns
For grocery returns that cannot be processed through the standard online return system:
- Use the grocery refund request form on the ASDA website
- Contact customer service for assistance
In-Store Returns
- Visit any ASDA store with your item and proof of purchase
- Go to the customer service desk for assistance
- Store staff will process your return or exchange
Refund Processing
Refund Timeline
- Refunds can take up to 14 days to reach your account from the day you start your return
- We will make any refunds within 14 days of receiving the item(s) back or if we are collecting the item(s) from you, within 14 days of receiving your notification to us that you wish to return the item(s)
Refund Method
- All refunds will be made by crediting the card you paid with
- For gift card purchases, refunds will be credited back to a gift card
Delivery Charges
- We will only refund delivery charges if the item is faulty, or otherwise permitted by these terms
- We will refund your delivery charges if you change your mind and cancel your order for any reason within 30 calendar days after delivery or collection
Exchange Policy
General Exchange Rules
- You can only exchange items that have been delivered home
- Exchanges are subject to the same timeframes as returns (30 days for most items, 100 days for George clothing)
- Items must be in original condition with packaging
Music, Video & Games
- Music, video, and games returns will only be accepted if you have the original receipt or proof of purchase. However, you’ll not get a refund for these but a one-time-only exchange of title
